Hello Tappan 8th grade band students and families,

8th grade band students have received an envelope today containing 1 family and 2 individual Bands in Review tickets. Money and unsold tickets are due back to Ms. Stout by March 13, 2024. Please read below for information about Bands in Review (this information was sent in a previous email and is also attached to the envelope students will be bringing home):

Bands In Review is Saturday, March 16th, 2024 at Pioneer High School 7:00pm

Please sell tickets-Money & unsold tickets due to Ms. Stout by Wednesday, March 13th

Bands in Review is the one concert each year that requires tickets and is our only annual fundraiser for the Tappan Bands. Performers will not need a ticket but parents, siblings and other guests will. Funds from tickets that Tappan students sell comes right back to support the Tappan Bands! 

DETAILS

  • Tickets are in the attached envelope labeled with the student’s name
  • Money, unsold tickets and the form below should be returned sealed in this envelope by Wednesday, March 13th.
  • Each student is asked to sell 2 individual tickets ($5) and one family ticket* ($10).  
  • One family ticket admits the immediate family members living in one household*.
  • The total value of the tickets in your envelope is $20. 
  • Students are responsible for returning a combination of money and/or unsold tickets equaling at least $20. 
  • Donations are also welcome. Please include them in your envelope with a note.
  • You may request additional tickets from Ms. Stout.

We want everyone to attend Bands In Review! If purchasing tickets is an obstacle for your family attending the concert, please let Ms. Stout know and we can provide no-cost tickets. Tickets will also be available at the door, however the money raised at the door is used to cover general expenses, and will not go directly to Tappan. We encourage you to purchase your tickets from a Tappan student!

**TAPPAN BAND: BANDS IN REVIEW INFORMATION SATURDAY MARCH 16, 2024**

TRANSPORTATION: Students will need to provide their own transportation to and from Pioneer High School (601 W. Stadium Blvd., Ann Arbor, MI). If you are in need of transportation assistance, please contact Ms. Stout.

INSTRUMENTS: Students are responsible for transporting their own instruments to/from Pioneer along with anything they need to perform (music, sticks/mallets, mutes, valve oil, reeds, etc). Do not cause stress for yourself, your section, your directors, and the band by being unprepared! Leave a reminder for yourself to take home everything that you need on Friday at the end of the school day.

DRESS: Normal concert attire; black dress shirts, black dress bottoms, black shoes/socks. Students will need to stay in uniform from the time they arrive until they leave. Dress for success!

ATTENDANCE: ​​Attendance for concerts is mandatory except in cases of emergency. Every band member is important and we need to know ASAP if someone will be absent so we can make adjustments and ensure all parts are covered. We ask that you make every effort to resolve scheduling conflicts. Please contact Ms. Stout at stoutl@aaps.k12.mi.us with any questions regarding attendance or in case of emergency.

ITINERARY:

6:30 Arrive at Pioneer High School flagpole entrance and head to the Pioneer cafeteria to unpack. Meet Ms. Stout and Mr. Beery for attendance. Families find seats in the audience (concert starts at 7pm). 

7:05: Warm up in the Pioneer Orchestra room

7:25: Move to the stage, set up for performance

7:30: Tappan Band performs

7:40: Tappan Band sits in the audience as a group to watch the remainder of the concert. Students are dismissed when the Pioneer Symphony Band has finished performing.
