It’s that time of year! Our Winter Concerts are coming up and we’re so excited for you to hear the progress all our wonderful musicians have made on their instruments.

Eighth Grade Band, Orchestra, Choir, & Jazz Band Concert: Wednesday December 5th at 6:30pm in the Tappan Auditorium

Seventh Grade Band, Orchestra, & Choir Concert: Tuesday December 11th at 6:30pm in the Tappan Auditorium

Sixth Grade Band, Orchestra & Choir Concert: Tuesday December 18th at 6:30pm in the Tappan Auditorium

Emails were sent home to parents before Thanksgiving with full details for each grade level, but you can find all you need to know below:

Eighth Grade

Assembly: During the school day on December 5th, students will be performing in an assembly for the school and should wear their blue band t-shirts and bottoms/shoes of their choice. Jazz Band students should wear their black jazz band t-shirts with bottoms/shoes of their choice.

Arrival: Students should arrive to Tappan at 6pm and go directly to the band room for warm up. Students who are participating in another ensemble (orchestra, choir) will receive adjusted instructions from their other directors.

Attire for the evening concert: White dress shirt, black dress pants, black dress shoes, and black socks. If you are in need of assistance regarding the uniform, please contact me directly at stoutl@aaps.k12.mi.us. Jazz band students should wear their jazz band t-shirts underneath their white concert shirts.

Attendance: As it explains in the syllabus, attendance is expected unless previously excused or in the case of an emergency. As always, students will receive a grade for their performance at the concert.

Duration: Students are expected to remain for the duration of the entire performance to support the other performing ensembles.

Weather: In the very unlikely event of a snow day on December 5th, we will send home communication to you regarding the cancellation of the concert if necessary.

Sixth Grade

Arrival: Students should arrive to Tappan at 6:00pm and go directly to their assigned locations (see below) for warm up. Students who are participating in another ensemble (orchestra, choir) will receive adjusted instructions from their other directors.

-7th hour A/B band will warm up on stage with Ms. Stout before the concert begins. Students will use practice rooms to store their instrument cases.
-3rd hour A/B band will warm up in the band room with Mr. Beery before the concert begins. -Students will use the band room to store their instrument cases.
The order of the concert will most likely be: 7th hour band, 3rd hour band, Orchestra, Choir

Attire for the evening concert: White dress shirt, black dress pants, black dress shoes, and black socks. If you are in need of assistance regarding the uniform, please contact me directly at stoutl@aaps.k12.mi.us.
