HIGH SCHOOL BAND AUDITIONS
High School Band Auditions are coming up very soon! We will have three more after school practices on Mondays: March 31, April 7, and April 14 from 3:15-4:30 to help you prepare. There is no after school practice today.
As a reminder, all 8th grade band students are required to audition for high school band. Whether or not you ultimately continue is your choice, however you must participate in the audition process. If you are still unsure of which high school you are attending next year, plan to audition for both Huron and Pioneer to cover your bases. If anyone has decided to go to Skyline next year, please email Ms. Stout for audition information.

HURON
Huron Gold, Green, and Symphony auditions will be held on Saturday April 5th at Huron High School. A sign up sheet will be emailed home to you soon from Huron for audition times. If you cannot make this date at all, please let Ms. Stout know ASAP. Huron Varsity auditions will take place at Tappan after this date.
PIONEER
Pioneer auditions will be held the week of April 14-April 18 at Tappan during 2nd hour band class.
COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL JAZZ: If you are interested in auditioning for Community, please go to https://www.communityhighjazz.org/auditions and read ALL of the information. You must fill out this form if you are interested in doing an audition for Community Jazz.
PICNIC POPS (8th Grade Concert Band)
Where: Pioneer High School outside on the lawn (this is a great concert for younger siblings as it’s outside and there’s games and lots to do)
Who: 8th grade concert band
When: Sunday May 18th. Students arrive at 11:30am. Tappan performs 12:15-12:30. Dismissal at 12:30.
Note: This is an all-day event, and schools will be performing well into the evening. Students are allowed to stay at Picnic Pops to enjoy games, food, and watch other groups perform after Tappan plays as long as they are accompanied by an adult on site.
Attire: Students will wear Tappan band shirts and bottoms/shoes of their choice.
JAZZ SUMMIT/SPRING CONCERT (Jazz Band Only)
AAPS Jazz Summit:
Where: Huron High School
Who: 8th Grade Jazz Band, Clague, Scarlett, Huron, Pioneer, Community
When: Thursday April 17th. Students arrive at 6:00pm, concert starts at 6:30
Attire: Concert black (like Orchestra Night/Bands in Review)
Spring Band Concert
Where: Tappan Auditorium
Who: 6th grade band, 7th grade band, Jazz Band
When: Tuesday May 13th. Students arrive at 6:00pm, concert starts at 6:30pm
Attire: Band shirts, bottoms/shoes of your choice
ATTENDANCE: Attendance for concerts is mandatory except in cases of emergency. Every band member is important and we need to know ASAP if someone will be absent so we can make adjustments and ensure all parts are covered. We ask that you make every effort to resolve scheduling conflicts. Please contact Ms. Stout at stoutl@aaps.k12.mi.us with any questions regarding attendance or in case of emergency.
