Last week, the Tappan Eighth Grade Jazz Band had the honor of being invited backstage to meet jazz trumpet legend Wynton Marsalis. Mr. Marsalis shook each students’ hand and spoke with them for nearly half an hour, answering questions and giving musical and life advice. It was a moment none of our young jazz musicians will ever forget!
