Next Thursday, May 16, is our Spring Band Concert in the Tappan Auditorium at 6:30pm. Performing that evening will be sixth grade band, seventh grade band, and eighth grade jazz band. We are looking forward to you hearing our progress and what students have achieved this year!
A SPECIAL NOTE FOR SIXTH GRADERS: Sixth grade band students ALL need their instruments next Wednesday (May 15th) and Thursday (May 16th) in school regardless of the A/B schedule in PowerSchool. All sixth grade band students will have band on both of these days. Please encourage your student to write this in their planner so they don’t forget to bring their instruments to school the 15th and 16th.
ATTIRE
Attire for the concert is the same as the winter concert for 6th and 7th graders (white dress shirts, black dress pants, black dress shoes, and black socks). 8th grade jazz band students should wear their jazz band shirts with black bottoms and shoes.
ARRIVAL
All students should arrive at 6:00pm to the following locations:
6th Grade Concert Band: Unpack in labeled practice rooms/orchestra room, leave cases, go to the stage for group warm up
7th Grade Concert Band: Band room
8th Grade Jazz Band: Orchestra Room
PERFORMANCE DURING AND AFTER
The order of the performance will be sixth, seventh, and finally eighth grade. We will begin promptly at 6:30 and have quick transitions between all groups. All students are expected to remain for the duration of the performance. If your student needs to leave early for any reason, please communicate with Ms. Stout via email before the day of the concert.
ATTENDANCE
As always, attendance is expected unless previously excused and concert performance will be for a grade. If you have any questions, please email Ms. Stout before the concert (stoutl@aaps.k12.mi.us).
