If your student is participating in Solo and Ensemble Festival on Saturday, February 9th at Livonia Franklin High School, please read the following email closely.
If you need to confirm your student’s performance time or section number, please email Ms. Stout directly at stoutl@aaps.k12.mi.us.
At this point, students should be well into rehearsal on their music. All ensembles have had in class time to work together, but due to the snow days, students will need outside of school rehearsal time in order to be fully prepared.
All performers need to have the following:
1. An original copy (not a photocopy) of their music for the judge with all the measures numbered. This is required in order to receive a rating.
2. Copies of music for all members in an ensemble
3. Performers with an accompanist need to have scheduled at least one or two practices with their accompanist before Solo and Ensemble. Be sure to communicate your students’ performance time to their accompanists-The accompanists schedules are normally jam packed for this event.
I will be sending out a more detailed email next week regarding Solo and Ensemble, but please check in with students on their progress! All students have been asked to ensure that they’re bringing home their instruments daily so they can practice.
